American Youth String Ensemble (AYSE) Laura Cahn, Conductor The American Youth String Ensemble is an intermediate string orchestra led by conductor Laura Cahn. AYSE provides musicians the opportunity to enhance their skills in ensemble playing, with a focus on the relationship between the various string parts, tone color, and musical expression. Repertoire includes original string orchestra works and arrangements of standard symphonic literature. This group learns literature at VBODA (Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association) grade levels four and five. |
