American Youth Debut Orchestra (AYDO) Laura Cahn, Conductor The American Youth Debut Orchestra will perform under the direction of Laura Cahn, and will offer young string musicians an introduction to the fundamentals of orchestral performance. Debut Orchestra musicians will be taught basic ensemble playing skills, fundamental orchestra procedure, and vital rhythmic and tempo techniques. This orchestra will rehearse weekly from September through May and will have three public performances during the season. Repertoire for this ensemble includes string orchestra works at VBODA (Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association) grade levels two and three. Before joining, musicians should have at least two years of private lesson instruction. |
