Complete the application form (PDF) and mail with a non-refundable $35 audition fee by Friday, April 3, 2009.  For a hard-copy of the application, please e-mail the General Manager or call (703) 642-8051, ex. 34. Apllications will be availble in February 2009.

New Applicants*:

• String players choose to audition in the preliminary round at the preparatory or advanced level.  The applicant should, with the aid of his or her private teacher, review the audition requirements to determine at which level to audition. 
• Due to scheduling, wind players advance to the final round with the exception of flutes and clarinets, who must take the preliminary audition.

* Musicians who are not current members are considered new applicants.

Current AYPO Members:

Members of the String Ensemble and Concert Orchestra may:

1. Proceed automatically to the final audition round at the preparatory level OR. . .
2. Take the preliminary audition at the advanced level.

Note: If after taking the preliminary audition at the advanced level, the musician does not qualify, he or she will have the opportunity to take the final audition at the preparatory level.

Members of the Symphonic Orchestra and American Youth Philharmonic: proceed automatically to the final audition round at the advanced level.
